After crossing the bridge, we moved into one of the most meaningful parts of the day: a solo walk in the rainforest. Victor spaced students out along a quiet trail and encouraged them to slow down, listen, and just be still.
He asked them to notice whatever the forest offered, look for wildlife, and take a moment to think about the people who helped make their trip possible. Each student was asked to send a quick text and photo to someone they love as a simple act of gratitude.
Once everyone was settled in their spots, Victor continued down the trail while Mrs. Agar waited at the far end. Students had about 20 to 25 minutes on their own before being picked up and brought back to the starting point.
Many kids said this was their favorite part of the day. Some spotted monkeys. Others noticed insects or small plants they would have normally walked past. A few just took the chance to breathe and reflect in the quiet.
After everyone regrouped, we crossed the suspension bridge one more time and headed back to the bus for the ride to the hotel. Lots of time to think about where our paths will take us next….
