Dinner and a Show

After our ride in the sky it was time for us to fly to get to dinner. Having taken much longer than expected at the Eye, we had to hurry to get dinner in before our theater show tonight. So we fairly ran back to the Tube to travel a few stops to our dinner joint back in he West End area we explored yesterday. And to my surprise...we were again in a nightclub like atmosphere with flashing lights and mood lighting. I think the kids enjoyed that part - although the adults were ready for a meal that wasn't flashing!

Dinner was traditional fish and chips. I have to say as a non-fish-eater I wasn't super looking forward to this but wanted to try it just for the experience. To my surprise I liked it and ate the whole piece of fish! The kids were hungry from all the walking and running around today so it was pretty much inhaled.

No time to dilly dally so we hustled back to the Tube to go one stop back to Picadilly Circus. Again, we ran from the Tube to the theater, to the soundtrack of he live performances in the square, getting to the theater at 7:30 on the dot. We literally had just sat down when the curtain went up.

The show was called "The Comedy About a Bank Robbery" and I have to say it was hilarious. We had students in the from row of the theater and Keller even got to add a bit part to the show thanks to the actor plant seated next to her. Those of us up in the balcony enjoyed watching this happen!

The show was typical British humor - slapstick and some raunchy humor that made for an entertaining show. I think the kids most enjoyed watching my reactions since it was a little more than G-rated. A few from our group tried some ice cream at intermission which was a tasty treat for them!

After the show a long Tube ride back to the hotel. Ironically, two of our eagle-eyed students spotted the actor from the show tonight in the Tube among the throngs and managed to get selfies with him! What luck!

In all we did about 22,000 steps today - just over 10 miles and probably close to 60 flights of stairs in all. It has been a long day - but the kids are having a blast!!!

London Eye

This is the worlds largest ferries wheel at almost 500 feet. It costs 25 pounds for a ticket (well prepaid for us!) and takes about 30 minutes to make a circuit. What's odd is the cart never stops moving and you have to get on while it slowly crawls.

From the ferries wheel we have some amazing views of the city below! We have also discovered those students iPhone 7 plus are getting some awesome photos!!

More Tower of the London

Here are a few more photos from the Tower of London stop. Several students waited to see the Crown Jewels (unfortunately no photos from there!). We visited the torture tower and the White Tower which houses the armory displays. All in all I think that was a highlight for many of the kids and the adults!
