Exterior of Notre Dame

After our visit inside we took a quick tour around he outside to see some of the architectural features including the gargoyles that hang off the side (they are also rain gutters to direct the water away from the facade) and the hanging buttresses which are the supports to hold up the church. We stopped at a garden at the rear to get a demonstration using Sam as our chapel and showed how the supports keep the walls from pushing outward to collapse.
