Here we are in Lloret de Mar, a small seaside town close to the border of France. It is a sleepy town during the day, popular with British, Dutch and American tourists. Our hotel is about 1/3 mile from the beach. It is still a bit nippy here but we walked down into town to see the beach and get the lay of the land. This town was a sailing town in the 1950s and a popular port for sailors heading to Cuba.
There is a large pedestrian area just off the beach filled with shops and restaurants. At the center is a colorful church. We have very little planned for the next two days so we expect a lot of shopping and beach time :)
