Fueled and ready we hooped into the Metro for a quick ride into central Paris.
We headed toward the Latin Quarter, which is just south of Norte Dame and is considered the student district
Because it is right near the Sorbonne University. Mostly it’s full of fun restaurants (think fondue and crepes) and souvenir shops right along the Seine River.
Orane told us about the narrowest street in Paris (barely wide enough for 3 people to wall down). We also heard about in medieval times the way chamber pots were emptied out the windows into the streets below. The roads are inverted so it would run into a trough down the middle of the road.
This area has always been crowded when I have visited and it was pretty deserted today. The shopkeepers are so grateful for the travelers being out to spend money because tourism is such a huge part of the economy in France.
Sampling the food and shopping (of course).
