Les Invalides

Photo stop at Les Invalides. The Hotel des Invalides is the museum of the army and is still a military hospital. The dome is covered in gold leaf. Napoleon’s body is entombed inside, inside seven coffins. He died overseas and naval law at the time said bodies must be transported in 6 coffins, and then a ceremonial coffin was added once he arrived back in France.
