The walk up to the observatory was a mix of blacktop and snow. Very steep, so fortunately we had that fresh air to breathe in!
Those who made the trek up to the top of the Observatory were rewarded with 360 degree views of the mountains and lake in the whipping wind.

The station at the end of the line!

We spent a little time exploring, snapping photos, a taking in the fresh mountain air and of course shopping in the souvenir shop.
Then it was time to board the train back down the mountain! The cogwheel railway, with its steep incline, was a huge feat of engineering back in the day, and it remains a popular way to access the mountain today. Everywhere we looked even more beautiful views as we descended!
