In keeping with Swiss punctuality, we were all on time for our ride up the rest of the mountain. The railway on Mount Rigi is a real gem in Swiss history! It’s actually one of the oldest cogwheel railways in Europe, first opening in 1871 to support the inn that opened in 1816. The vintage cars took us all the way up to the summit, over 5,700 feet high! Along the way, we got to enjoy stunning views of the Alps and surrounding lakes.
It doesn’t even look real!!
